FAQ
GENERAL

01 How does the platform work for the broadcaster?

The presenter has access to the platform provided by CUULT' by subscription, to which he has a personal account with password. Basic, Standard and Premium subscriptions are for one year from the first screening date.
The presenter, in conjunction with the rights-holders, is responsible for the programming of the works, as well as for finding speakers for the meetings following the sessions.
The presenter creates and puts the sessions online via his user account.

CUULT' is in charge of the technical management: recovery of the material, broadcasting the film, live streaming of the meetings.

The broadcaster takes care of the communication around the screenings in collaboration with the rights-holders.

In the case of ticketing sessions, CUULT' will take care of the accounting and the distribution of the revenues between the broadcaster and the rights-holders.

02 What is geolocation? How does it work?

Each virtual room has a default geographical radius.

The spectators geolocated in the radius will have access to the ticketing of its screenings.

Distributors can, at the request of broadcasters, define a different geolocation radius for each film (to cover a whole territory for example).

03 How are gauges and free access to the sessions organized?

There are four options available to you:

• Option 1: Free ticket booking, with account creation and limited gauge,
• Option 2: Invited email addresses with account creation. Maximum 10% of the gauge in non-commercial, and 10 invitations in paid ticketing,
• Option 3: Private link without account creation and restricted number of connections (cannot be combined with option 1),
• Option 4: VIP private links (unique) without creating an account (idem).

04 What kind of connection should the spectators have?

On the viewer's side, the video broadcast adapts to the quality of the internet connection. It is therefore necessary to have a connection that can receive a video broadcast (similar to Youtube or Netflix).

PROCEDURE OF THE SESSIONS

01 How do the sessions work?

The sessions work as follows:
Pre-session (10 min max) >> Film > Live streaming
It is not possible to organize a live event before the film.
In case of a live event, the film will start 10 minutes after the scheduled time (to synchronize the different pre-shows, which vary in length depending on the theater).

02 How does the chat and moderation work?

The chat tool will be launched 20 minutes before the start of the meeting with our technician. A link to access the chat is provided to the participants. It is possible, but not required, to moderate the messages appearing in the virtual room via the dashboard.

03 How is a speaker session organized?

We provide you with a connection link to send to the speakers and moderators, allowing them to join the discussion before the live session, on which they must connect 20mn before the end of the session to be connected with our technician.
We advise you to use a laptop and the Chrome browser for optimal quality.

04 What is a hybrid session? How is it organized?

A hybrid session is a session held simultaneously in a physical room and in a virtual room.
It is a face-to-face session where the speakers are not in the room. In this case, the room broadcasts the film in DCP (cinema format), then projects the meeting via our virtual room.
This is also the case for a session with a debate filmed in a physical room and broadcasted simultaneously in the virtual room. A moderator in the physical room collects and moderates the questions of the spectators present online (see the chat and moderation section) to lead the meeting.

05 What is event sharing on the big screen?

The debate is captured in one theater and simulcast to other theaters. The audience is divided into two parts: those physically present in the event venue, and those present in the partner theaters. Via an online chat accessible with a QR Code or a web address, the spectators present in the partner theaters can interact and ask questions. These questions can then be forwarded to the speakers, thanks to a chat host physically present in the event room.
TECHNIQUES

01 How to send the live stream to CUULT'?

You have two possibilities :
-
You take care of the recording. You can make an edit with different cameras thanks to live stream software, like OBS or livestream studio. These software prorams allow you to choose different broadcast interfaces (Facebook, Youtube...). To send us the stream you need to select as output a custom RTMP stream. CUULT' technicians will send you the connection key for this stream a few days before the session. On the day of the event, you start your live stream at the agreed-upon time and it will be broadcast live. You have 100% control over the flow of your recording, the editing and the live broadcast. A moderator on your side can collect and moderate the reactions of the spectators in the chat, or you can let the spectators talk to each other. (Same model as for the meetings). This feature does not require any additional cost on your part. If you want to broadcast the live stream on your networks and on CUULT' at the same time, some live streaming software do not allow you to select multiple outputs. In this case, we recommend you to use Restream.io, send your stream to this software and then send it to multiple outputs (https://restream.io/channel).

On request.

02 How is the copy department organized?

-
What type of file should I send? We recover the video file(s) from our servers, in order to broadcast them in the virtual room. The files to be sent to us are digital MP4 files, in H.264, high-definition, and if possible less than 10 GB. We can also accept 4K files, in 5.1. Precise specs sheet on request. Introduction video (pre-session). The introduction video must be sent in vertical format (if filmed with a smartphone) mp4 and must last 10min maximum.
-
How long do I have to send the files? In order for our teams to test the video files received, we ask that you send them to us at least one week before the first screening.
AFTER THE SESSION

01 After the session

We can provide you with a recording of the meeting as well as a viewing report on request in order to have access to the attendance figures per session. This data is also available in your back office.
